    • William was convicted along with his associate, Thomas Fleming, to 7 years Transportation to Australia. They sailed aboard the ship, "Sir William Bensley" departing for New South Wales on 9 October 1816, arriving on, or about, 21 March 1817. He was then forwarded to Bringelly for distribution.

      In a letter from the Resident Magistrate at Liverpool, New South Wales dated 16 May 1823, it is reported that William, who had declared himself free on 8 April 1823, was issued with a pass to Sydney for the purpose of obtaining his Certificate (of freedom).
